WoW Fishing
Guide
Fishing is classified as a secondary
profession in the World of Warcraft. It is a gathering
profession more likely similar to Mining and Herbalism but
it has unique angles of difference. This WoW fishing guide
would show you some useful tips.
Just like
fishing in the real world, WoW fishing profession requires you
to have patience. You would need to spend a lot of time waiting
for something from the waters to bite on the bait. By the time
you have caught something, the bobber will automatically dip,
that is the time that you should quickly double click. Just
like in the real world as I have said, there would also be
instances that you can fish junks or valuable items.

Being a secondary profession, it should be well-mixed with a
primary one. Cooking is the best tandem of Fishing. By cooking
the fishes that you have on your catch, you earn more
gold.
Here are
important tips which you should know in leveling your fishing
skill. To start with, you should be able to get a pole. A basic
fishing pole is enough to start this profession. Trade
suppliers or Fishing Suppliers located near the waters usually
sell these for 23
coppers.
As a rookie
in the game, you need to find a Fishing Trainer. It is to be
expected that fishing trainers would be found at places near
the waters. If you really need help, you can ask from a guard.
Beginning training will usually cost you approximately 1
silver.
As you go
fishing, you also need to equip your pole. You can do it by the
dragging the pole to the main hand slot on the character
screen.
Next step is
to have a Spellbook. How to do it? Just put the fishing icon on
your own action bar for your convenience. In casting a line,
you will just click the fishing icon on your action bar. The
bobber will dip into the water if you have done it the right
way.
Lastly, you
have to reel the catch. As I mentioned earlier, once the bobber
is in the water, right click it quickly, two times to reel it
and put it in the
inventory.
You should be
aware that the locations on where you fish do not affect or
change your skill rate. Fishing skill rates usually change due
to unsuccessful catches being made by
you.
The question
now is where the good places to fish are. Beginning at
Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore is a good start. To fish, go to
Stonebull Lake. From there, you would spend 40 minutes to catch
60 brilliant Smallfish . By that time, you should have a catch
of about 30 Longjaw Mud Snappers. To be able to cook the
Smallfishes and the Longjaw Mud Snappers, you should have
purchased recipes to teach you cook these fishes. However,
cooking Longjaw Mud Snappers are advisable when you have
reached level 50.
These are the basic and easy ways to follow
when you want to level your fishing skill really fast. A fun
profession as it may seem but it would be very beneficial for
you in terms of gold collecting.
